Dear Praying Momma,
Maybe you’ve been at this for 2 months. Maybe you’ve been at this for a lifetime. Regardless of the time, God sees you. He sees the countless hours you spend on your knees, in your car, or home alone crying out for your babies. He sees the many tears you have cried for them. For their return home, or maybe just for their safety.
He heard your prayers for them when they were in the womb. He heard you when you prayed for them as you watched them sleep. He heard your prayers for them as they grew older. And He hears your prayers for them even now.
He knew them even before they were a thought in your mind. Don’t you know He loves them more? Even though impossible to think that anyone could love them more than you, He does. He formed them. He knows exactly who they will become. He has called them. Chosen them. He has set them apart. And He has entrusted them to you.
Maybe you feel that you don’t belong in the category of the praying mom. Maybe you have fallen short in your efforts to pray for them. But it’s not too late. You can start now.
As mothers, our job is to fight for them and, when they are older, teach them how to fight. To fight not with their hands, but on their knees.
Not only is it our job to teach them how to properly fight, but it is also our job to teach them what they are fighting against. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” We have to teach our children that the battle they have to fight isn’t against people but against the enemy of God. We have to teach them that it’s a daily fight. But we also teach them that the story ends well…WE WIN!
As mothers we have the toughest, most rewarding job there is. We birth them, we teach them, we watch them grow. We help them through the struggles and rejoice with them in their victories. No one can experience the feeling of your heart becoming flesh and bone like a mother.
As a new mom to most amazing little boy, it literally feels like a part of my body is living on the outside, and when I’m not with him, I feel like a piece of me is missing. (y’all know he is never moving out right?)
To the praying momma, please know that even on the toughest days, God hears you, and He sees your heart. He sees the tears you cry begging for your baby to come back home. He sees the pain you feel from the rejection. He hears you when you’re calling out, when you feel like you can’t go on anymore.
Because what we quickly forget is that WE are His babies! We are HIS children that He loves unconditionally with no strings attached. And no matter how far we run, we can NEVER outrun His love! He will always be there waiting with open arms.
So to the praying momma, whether it be the new mom just starting this journey or the grandma who has seen it all, He hears us! He is watching over our babies and He will protect them, but we have to stand in the gap and declare over our sons and our daughters that they are chosen. Called. Free. Anointed. Set apart. Redeemed. And forgiven. WE have to block the lies that the enemy speaks over them.
From one praying momma to another, keep on sister. We can fight together!
“Dear Lord, I pray right now for every mother tonight who is fighting for her baby in prayer! God, I ask for a supernatural strength to be given to each one. I ask that you open Heaven and pour over them a new and fresh will to fight. Lord, I ask that you help them to raise powerful sons and daughters who will work for the kingdom. I ask that you unite us like never before. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Much love,
Whitney Dawn
